Abstract
Description
The invention relates to methods for the production of paper and can be used mainly in the manufacture of cover, flyleaf and some other types of decorative paper on a paper machine.
A known method of manufacturing decorative paper, mainly cover and flyleaf, including the formation of the canvas, its pressing the application of relief in the process of pressing using a shaft with a profiled surface with a dry sheet 32-40% and drying [1]
The disadvantage of this method is that when exposed to a shaft with a profiled surface, the uniformity of the structure of the paper web is violated, especially in places where the edges of the elements of the profile of the surface of the shaft are exposed. This reduces the strength of the surface of the paper to abrasion and plucking, which is a significant disadvantage for printed types of paper.
As the closest analogue, we take the method of manufacturing decorative paper, mainly cover and flyleaf, including forming the fabric, its surface treatment with liquid, pressing, applying relief in the process of pressing using a shaft with a profiled surface with a dry sheet 32–40% and subsequent drying [2]
In the specified method, the surface is treated at the stage of molding with a mixture of a polymer binder with a water-soluble aluminum salt, and the relief is applied using a shaft after the specified liquid treatment.
Compared with the analogue [1], the abrasion resistance of the surface increases due to the introduction of a binder.
However, when implementing this method, part of the binder is lost, since the dehydration of the paper web has not yet been completed. Moreover, sizing occurs throughout the entire thickness of the web, and sizing of the surface layer is insufficient. This leads in this method to insufficient resistance of the surface to abrasion and plucking.
In the case of a disproportionate width of the valleys of the shaft profile surface, clogging of the valleys by the fiber will occur, or if the valleys are small in width, mechanical destruction of the fiber will occur, its cutting at the sharp edges of the shaft profile. As a result, the quality of the paper web is reduced.
The aim of the invention is to improve the quality of paper.
This goal is achieved by the fact that in the method comprising forming the web, its surface treatment with liquid, pressing using a roll with a profiled surface with a dry cloth of 32-40% and subsequent drying, according to the invention, the relief is applied simultaneously with the surface treatment of the web with the liquid previously applied on the surface of the shaft, while using a profiled shaft with a minimum width of the depressions equal to 0.08-0.20 mm and having rounding elements of the profiled surface.
Figure 1 shows a device that implements the proposed method; in FIG. 2 profile of the surface relief of the shaft.
The device comprises a
The method consists in the following operations.
The molded web at a dryness of 32-40% is fed into the gap between the
Due to surface tension and the presence of depressions, the liquid layer has a large thickness on the surface of the depressions. Upon contact with the paper web under the influence of embossed protrusions, the paper is pressed into the hollows and is subjected to intense exposure to liquid. This provides a higher degree of processing of the formed protrusions on the surface of the paper. Strengthening the processing of protrusions on the surface of the paper is important, since it is the protrusions that contact the elements of the printing form when applying paint to the surface of the finished paper, and are also subjected to the greatest stresses when using printed products during its processing.
The rounding of the profile elements prevents the destruction of the fibers. In addition, for each type of paper, the minimum dimensions of the width of the depressions are determined. The influence of the processing liquid creates favorable technological conditions for simultaneous processing of the application of relief on the surface of the paper.

The table shows that the best results are obtained in examples 1-3, and the best correspond to the average value of the width of the trough of the profiled surface and the shaft. In examples 4 and 5, a marked decrease in indicators, including the most important indicators in
A significant reduction in the width of the depressions of the profiled surface of the shaft will lead to increased mechanical damage to the fibers, and an increase in the width to clogging of the depressions with the fiber and reduce the stability of the relief and abrasion resistance.
