Abstract
Description
The invention relates to chemical current sources (CHIT) and relates to the composition of the cathode mass of primary CHIT with a water-salt electrolyte of an air-zinc (CC) system.
Known sealed water-salt HIT [1] containing a moisture-sensitive additive of 0.1-0.2% providing moisture content of the active mass up to 19-22% and due to this high-quality technological parameters (flowability, compressibility of it). The presence of water in the cathode mass of the CC element is necessary, firstly, to ensure technological parameters, and secondly, to increase the capacity of the chemical element, since during its operation, water is a consumable component. Therefore, they try to provide the water content at an elevated level, for example, by introducing moisture-intensive additives into the cathode mass.
However, in the aforementioned HIT cathode mass due to the relatively low moisture capacity does not allow to obtain products with a higher electric capacity (duration).
Closest to the invention is the cathode mass for CC HIT with a water-salt electrolyte [2] currently used in production according to the recipe: Manganese dioxide 35-45% Graphite 45% Activated carbon 20-10% Ammonium chloride 15 g / 100 g of the mixture
moistening with an electrolyte of 35% per 100 g of dry mass, which consists of chlorides of ammonium and zinc salts of 23.5 and 6.1%, respectively, which in terms of wet cathode mass is wt. Manganese dioxide 20-22 Activated carbon 10-12 Graphite 27-28 Ammonium chloride 20-22 Zinc chloride 1.3-1.5 Water 21.7-14.5
The content of a large amount of ammonium chloride and the low moisture content in this active mass leads to increased complexation and crystallization upon discharge of the element, and the high content (20-22%) of expensive and scarce manganese dioxide leads to a significant increase in the cost of the product.
To eliminate these drawbacks and to obtain a high-tech cathode mass that meets simultaneously two main requirements, high humidity (at least 30%) and high porosity (the porous structure provides oxygen to the reaction zone and a sufficient surface of the three-phase boundary), a cathode mixture with a non-swelling moisture-absorbing additive from groups of compounds such as natural aluminosilicates in the following ratio of components, wt. Manganese dioxide 6-12 Carbon black (soot) 9-12 Activated carbon 14-16 Zinc chloride 18-28 Moisture-absorbing additive 0.5-2 Water Else
Additionally, perchlorates of a metal selected from the group consisting of magnesium, zinc, calcium, in an amount of 0.1-6, can be added to the cathode mass. The introduction of perchlorates helps to retain moisture during prolonged discharges and reduces self-discharge. When the content of perchlorates above 6% becomes noticeable decrease in voltage, which is observed in the presence in the mass of perchloric acid compounds.
The introduction of a moisture-absorbing additive in an amount of 0.5-2% allows you to get a mass with a moisture content of 30-52.5% and a zinc chloride content of 18-28%. An increase in the amount of moisture when using chlorzinc salt electrolyte allows you to get a cathode mass with high capacitive characteristics. In addition, with this ratio of components provides a technological, easily extruded mass and, accordingly, a cathode with high porosity and humidity.
However, the presence of an excessive amount of a moisture-absorbing additive noticeably worsens the electrical conductivity of the cathode mass and thereby increases the internal resistance of the elements, which can lead to a drop in their energy characteristics. This circumstance does not allow introducing more than 2% of the additive into the cathode.
