Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a technique for sintering iron ore raw materials and can be used in pelletizing factories.
[1]. Known and most widely used binder additive in the mixture for the production of pellets is bentonite [1].
The disadvantages of the known charges with a binder additive - bentonite - are the scarcity of high-quality varieties of the latter, their occurrence far from existing pelletizing factories and the need for expensive transportation.
[2]. A mixture is also known for the production of pellets, containing, wt.%: Limestone 7.5-8.0; hydromica clay 0.4-0.6; iron ore concentrate - the rest [2].
The disadvantages of the known mixture is the very low moisture absorption capacity of hydromica (Callovian) clays due to their very low swelling, not exceeding 1.0-1.7 units. If the concentrate is increased compared to the optimum humidity (which is currently typical for all pelletizing factories and is aggravated by increasing the fineness of the concentrate grinding), the pelletization process and the optimum charge moisture can no longer be controlled by the specified clay flow rate, since exceeding the indicated upper limit of their consumption ( 0.6%) is unacceptable due to dilution and a decrease in the iron content in the finished product. The consequence of this is the deterioration of the quality of the pellets due to the formation of a large number of large clods of irregular shape from the waterlogged charge, which are the main sources of fines and dust.
The purpose of the invention is the stabilization of the process of pelletizing and improving the quality of the pellets by stabilizing the moisture content of the charge.
This technical result is achieved using a combination of essential features that characterize the proposed mixture for the production of pellets.
According to the invention, the mixture for the production of pellets contains: iron ore concentrate, limestone, and as a binder, bentonite and hydromica clay in the following ratio of components, wt%: Limestone 7.5-8.0 Bentonite 0.2-0.3
Hydromica clay 0.2-0.3
Iron ore concentrate Else.
The proposed mixture for the production of pellets differs from the prototype in that used together with hydromica clay bentonite can stabilize the process of pelletization and improve the granulometric composition of the pellets. Using the proposed mixture allows to reduce the consumption of the scarce binder - bentonite - by 2–3 times and to use overburden as a partial replacement, which reduces operating costs while maintaining the quality of the pellets at the same level. As can be seen from the table, with a consumption of bentonite less than 0.2% and hydromica clay less than 0.2% (in the amount of 0.4% of a binder), the strength characteristics and yield of the conditioned fraction of 16-10 mm in pellets are somewhat worse than with hydromica clay according to the prototype and the usual consumption of bentonite 0.4-0.5%. Increasing the consumption of bentonite and hydromica clay above 0.3% (in the amount of 0.6%) is impractical, since with a slight improvement in the strength characteristics of the pellets, the iron content in them will decrease compared to the base. Thus, the use of a binder additive in the form of a mixture of bentonite 0.2-0.3% and hydromica clay 0.2-0.3% in the mixture for the production of pellets is optimal and allows us to solve the problem - to stabilize the pelletizing process and improve the quality of pellets .
The results of pilot tests of a mixture of bentonite and hydromica clay as a binder in the mixture for the production of pellets are shown in the table.
П р и м е р. PRI me R. Hydromica clay (overburden of the Mikhailovsky deposit) and bentonite of the Dash-Salakhlinskoye deposit were prepared according to the technology used at the pelletizing plants to a powder fineness of 95% - 0.071 mm with a moisture content of 3.5-3.7%. The mixture used limestone with a CaO content of 53.1% of the same size with a moisture content of 0.2% and iron ore concentrate of Mikhailovsky GOK with an iron content of 63.7%, SiO 2 of 10.3%, a specific surface of 1920 cm 2 / g, and a humidity of 10 , 2%. Binder additives - hydromica clay and bentonite - were added to the mixture in an amount of 0.1-0.5% each, limestone consumption was in all cases constant and equal to 7.5%, iron ore concentrate - the rest. The batch was mixed and kneaded in a plate granulator with a diameter of 1 m obtained pellets was fired in a kiln at a vertical samplers OK-520 machine at a temperature of 1240-1260 ° C in accordance with the current technological card.
