Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the metallurgy of non-ferrous metals, in particular to the production of aluminum alloys with zirconium, and in particular to alloys designed to modify and alloy aluminum wrought alloys with zirconium.
Known alloy Al-Zr for alloying aluminum alloys containing 1-5% zirconium, the rest is aluminum.
However, the known ligature gives a relatively low content of zirconium in the solid solution of the aluminum alloy matrix and has a weak modifying ability.
Alloys smelted using this ligature are characterized by low values of mechanical properties, technological plasticity and microhardness.
The invention solves the problem of increasing the mechanical and technological properties of aluminum wrought alloys with zirconium by developing a composition of the ligature, which has alloying and modifying abilities at the same time and to a sufficient degree.
The use of the inventive ligature allows to increase the content of zirconium in the solid solution of the melted alloy and at the same time to obtain a uniform fine-grained structure in ingots.
The inventive ligature for the modification and alloying of aluminum wrought aluminum alloys with zirconium containing zirconium and aluminum, according to the invention additionally contains copper in the following ratio, wt.%: Zr 8-12 Al 9-1 Cu The rest
The introduction of the inventive master alloy of copper as the basis contributes to the production of ingots more homogeneous fine-grained structure and prevents the danger of inheritance by alloys of refractory intermetallic compounds Al 3 Zr, characteristic of the prototype. The less refractory intermetallic phase Al x Cu y Zr formed in the Cu-Al-Zr ligature allows one to significantly change the macrostructure and microstructure of the alloy. Since the intermetallic compounds Al x Cu y Zr in the inventive ligature are less refractory than the intermetallic Al 3 Zr in the prototype, therefore, in alloys modified by the inventive ligature, microinhomogeneities like Al x Cu y Zr dissolve better than microinhomogeneities like Al z Zr. In this regard, zirconium introduced into the alloys of the inventive ligature, more easily passes into solution than when introduced by a known ligature. The content of aluminum in the range of 9-11 wt.% And zirconium in the range of 8-12 wt.% Is a necessary and sufficient condition for increasing the content of zirconium in the solid solution of the melt when alloying it with the claimed alloy. At the same time, the application of the proposed ratio of the ligature components promotes the formation of a larger number of dispersed microinhomogeneities of the type Al x Cu y Zr in the melt volume unit, which play the role of the most probable centers of crystallization of the solid solution, causing the formation of a more uniform structure of the alloy solid phase. All this predetermines an increase in technological plasticity and microhardness of alloyed alloys and reduces the tendency to crack.
It should be noted that the use of copper in Al-Cu ligature for alloying aluminum alloys containing 33-50% copper is known, the rest is aluminum.
By introducing the known Al-Zr and Al-Cu alloys into the melt, alloying of the alloy with zirconium and copper in known proportions is achieved.
However, the use of the inventive Al-Cu-Zr ligature gives an additional technical result that cannot be achieved by the separate introduction of two well-known ligatures, namely, the formation of dispersed microinhomogeneities of the type Al x Cu y Zr, the presence of a large number of which contributes to the refinement of the structure of the ingots of the aluminum alloy and causes an increased relative to the known zirconium content in the alloy.
To obtain the claimed ligature used the following materials:
Electrolytic copper grade no lower than M2 according to GOST 859-78
Zirconium electrolytic according to TU 95756-81
Aluminum grades a85-a97 according to GOST 11069-77
The ligature was smelted in an HPV-100 induction furnace with a graphite crucible. Zirconium was charged to the bottom of the furnace at the rate of 10 wt%, then electrolytic copper was charged. After dissolution of copper and dissolution of zirconium in it, the melt was alloyed with aluminum to the calculated composition. After melting, the melt was refined aluminum kriolitosoderzhaschim flux, slag and removed at 1100 C was conducted in an iron casting ligatures horizontal mold, a mixture of sunflower oil lubricated with graphite.
The claimed and known prototype ligature was used for alloying and modifying aluminum wrought alloys with
The structure, mechanical and technological properties of the ingots of these alloys were investigated by standard methods.
The results are presented in the table. As follows from the data presented in it, the claimed ligature (compositions 1-3) provides, compared with the known ligature (composition 4), a significant decrease in the average grain size and intermetallic compounds in alloys with a significant increase in the solubility and limiting content of zirconium in solid solution. The mechanical properties of alloys obtained using the inventive ligature are improved. The decrease in the number of ingots with cracks shows that the inventive ligature improves the technological properties of the alloys.
In addition, alloying the alloys with the inventive ligature in comparison with the known alloy allows reducing its amount when alloying the same volume of alloys, while guaranteeing their quality.
