Abstract
1. A method of performing heat exchange using a mother liquor in a paraxylene crystallization (PX) process, including: supplying an incoming material stream to a PX crystallization unit; providing a first crystallizer or heat exchanger for heat exchange using a low-temperature mother liquor; providing a second heat exchanger for heat exchange using mother liquor with intermediate temperature; and providing a third heat exchanger for heat exchange using the mother liquor at a higher temperature, the feed stream being cooled by the mother liquor during the heat exchange. The method of claim 1, wherein the temperature of said low temperature mother liquor is -50 ° C to -70 ° C. The method according to claim 1, wherein said first crystallizer or heat exchanger is a worm-gear crystallizer, a surface-cleaning crystallizer, or a portion of a crystallizer in the main crystallization station PX. The method of claim 1, wherein said first crystallizer or heat exchanger includes a plurality of crystallizers operating in series. The method of claim 1, wherein said first crystallizer or heat exchanger includes a plurality of crystallizers operating in parallel. The method of claim 1, wherein said second heat exchanger is a shell and tube heat exchanger. The method of claim 1, wherein said second heat exchanger is a tube-in-tube heat exchanger.
