Abstract
1. The lubricating composition according to claim 1, in which the calcium content (according to ASTM D 4951) is more than 0.10 wt.%. The lubricating composition according to claim 1, including a detergent additive, which is a product of the interaction of an acidic organic compound, a boron compound and a basic organic compound. The lubricating composition according to claim 6, in which the detergent additive has the general formula (I) shown below and a is 1 or 2; and where R and R are independently selected hydrocarbon groups, provided that when a is 2, the groups R and R are independently selected. The lubricating composition according to claim 1, in which at least 50% TBN of the composition is preferably at least 55%, more preferably at least 60%, most preferably at least 65% is provided by additives not containing metals. 9. The lubricating composition of claim 8, in which at least 50% TBN of the composition, preferably at least 60%, is provided
