1. Способ определения расстояния до сплошной поверхности, включающий ориентацию в пространстве основных процессов измерения, излучение импульсного ультразвукового сигнала, формирование его диаграммы направленности, его отражение от сплошной поверхности, прием отраженного сигнала, измерение времени запаздывания принятого сигнала относительно излученного, при условии, что его уровень превышает пороговый, определение по этому времени расстояния от опорной точки, жестко связанной с поверхностью излучения до сплошной поверхности, отличающийся тем, что устанавливают такие характерные частоты излучаемого ультразвукового сигнала и диаграммы направленности излучения и приема, что достигают устойчивого приема ультразвукового сигнала, отраженного от сплошной поверхности, и превышающего заданный пороговый уровень, при пренебрежимо малом уровне ультразвукового сигнала, отраженного от не сплошной поверхности, и других паразитных сигналов, не достигающих порогового уровня. ! 2. Способ по п.1, отличающийся тем, что соответствующая характерной частоте длина волны λ удовлетворяет следующему соотношению: ζ≤λ≤1, ! где ζ - характерный размер фрагментов, составляющих не сплошную поверхность, определяющий их отражательные свойства; ! 1 - характерный размер участка сплошной поверхности, принимаемый за участок с однородным рельефом, определяющий допустимый размер ультразвукового пятна. ! 3.
