An attenuator comprising a housing, a variable-length coaxial line segment, consisting of expandable parts of a round transverse waveguide, and resistors, characterized in that the central conductors of the expandable parts of the coaxial line segment in the initial position are tightly joined along the conical surface, the resistors are located in the immediate vicinity of the ends of the expandable parts of the central conductor of the attenuator, at the input of the attenuator a rectangular coaxial strip section is installed in the form of a segment coaxially th strip line with a rectangular outer conductor, equipped with perpendicular central strip, adjustable by depth of immersion tuning screws, the distance between which is regulated by the operating frequency range, and the central strip opposite the tuning screws is covered with a dielectric layer, which excludes the contact of the tuning screws with the central strip, while on the external the surface of the extendable part of the attenuator is marked with a reference scale that fixes the gap value of the central conductor.
