Abstract

The invention relates to electrical engineering, in particular to cathodoluminescent light sources. The aim of the invention is to increase light output and improve the uniformity of luminescence of the cathodoluminophore. The light source contains a glass cylinder filled with an inert gas. A network-transparent electrically conductive layer is applied on the inner surface of the container, which serves as anode 2. A layer of a cathodoluminophore 3 is deposited on the anode 2. The cathode 4 is made in the form of a hollow cylinder, the working surface of which is coated with high-emission material. The cylindrical shape of the hollow cathode contributes to the creation of an electric field in the interelectrode space, which ensures a uniform distribution of the electrons emitted by the cathode over the surface of the cathode phosphor and an increase in light output. 1 ill.
