Utility Model Description
The utility model relates to instrumentation, in particular to electromagnetic flowmeters designed to measure the flow rate of electrically conductive liquids.
Known electromagnetic flowmeters for electrically conductive fluids, the principle of which is based on the law of electromagnetic induction of Faraday. For example, the general-purpose electromagnetic flowmeter, widely considered in [1] and [2], is widely known. An electromagnetic flow meter contains a pipe made of non-magnetic material, the inner surface of which is covered with an insulating layer, an inductor consisting of two induction coils and a magnetic circuit, two electrodes installed diametrically opposite along the line perpendicular to the channel axis and the direction of the magnetic field, and a measuring device. All of the flowmeter elements listed above, except for the measuring device, are placed in a metal casing that protects them from mechanical damage. In addition, the casing is used as a protective shield against external interference of electromagnetic origin.
For some flowmeters, the measuring device is located directly on the casing of the flowmeter [2]. In these modifications of the devices, the central axis of the measuring device usually coincides with the direction of the magnetic field in the flowmeter channel and is perpendicular to the line connecting the electrodes (see [1] p. 421). In known flowmeters, the input of each electrode into the pipe is carried out using appropriate attachment points (for example, bushings) mounted on the pipe. In addition, one more attachment node is also provided, also containing a sleeve, with which the conductors are fed through the casing to the terminal box or measuring device, and this attachment node is located on one of the symmetry axes of the terminal box or measuring device (see [1] , p. 421). The need to use several attachment points is considered as a disadvantage of the known devices, since each additional attachment point reduces the reliability of the flowmeter.
The flow meter operates as follows. Due to the current flowing through the turns of the induction coils in the working volume of the channel, a magnetic field is excited, perpendicular to the plane passing through the axis of the electrodes and the axis of the channel. When an electrically conductive fluid moves along a pipe channel in its working volume, an electric field is excited as a result of magnetohydrodynamic interactions, the intensity of which is proportional to the speed and flow rate of the fluid. Electrodes and a measuring device are used to measure the electric field generated in a liquid.
The flowmeter can measure any conductive fluid.
In this utility model, the measuring device is mounted on the flowmeter housing in such a way that the central axis of the measuring device (axis of symmetry) forms a continuation of the line connecting the electrodes and is perpendicular to the direction of the magnetic field. This arrangement of the measuring device and its axes of symmetry allows you to combine the mounting unit of one of the electrodes with the mounting unit of the measuring device and, thereby, simplify the design and manufacturing technology of the device. The design of one of the electrode assemblies is combined with the mount of the measuring device to the body of the flowmeter.
In FIG. 1 shows the proposed electromagnetic flow meter.
The electromagnetic flowmeter consists of a
Electromagnetic flowmeter operates as follows. An electric current is supplied from the measuring
