The essence of the analogue is the design of the luggage rack, made of separate nodes. This shelf is designed exclusively for the transport of luggage.

Multifunctional shelf is operated (works) as follows.

In normal mode, with the decorative cover closed (Fig. 1), the multifunctional shelf is used to transport luggage, for which the shelf frame 1 serves. The decorative cover 2 is fixed by a locking element 3 (Fig. 7, shown schematically). Auxiliary elements are folded (flexible evacuation element 4 attached to the shelf frame, hammer 6 (Fig. 7)). If there is a protective casing 8 on the emergency opening device of the decorative cover, access to the auxiliary elements is additionally protected from dust and moisture, as well as from unauthorized opening of the decorative cover. In the presence of an autonomous power supply 12, a signal supply device (signaling elements) 9, an auxiliary lighting element 11, or other electronics components, with the shut-off device closed, all these elements are de-energized (elements 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 are shown schematically).

Multiple facts of emergency situations, as well as studies show the need and usefulness of the presence of instructing signs to ensure evacuation, which facilitates the actions of even trained people, especially unprepared passengers.

Of course, the instructions on the actions of passengers should be located next to the instructions on fire safety or the rules of how to travel in public transport. Familiarization with the instructions should be made in advance, including liability for violation of the unauthorized use of rescue equipment (evacuation).

To open the decorative cover, the protective casing (if any) is moved to the side (or broken), made, for example, of light and thin plexiglass, which does not require significant effort to break, to access the emergency opening device 14.

A reflective coating applied to the evacuation element will indicate its position in space and will accelerate the evacuation in the dark even with minimal (auxiliary) emergency lighting.

In cases where the opening for evacuation cannot be opened or the opening mechanism is not provided, the window is broken by the hammer provided for this (Fig. 6).

The hammer is previously placed inside the shelf (Fig. 7) and can be attached to the shelf frame using a cable. If necessary, the cable is unwound to the specified length.

In the compartments of the shelf there is space for accommodating elements of an emergency kit, such as a first-aid kit, walkie-talkie, flashlight, chemical sources of light and heat, etc. (Fig. 8), which can be indispensable in the conditions of long-term lack of assistance and facilitate the search for passengers.

Together, the essential features of the proposed solution lead to the following technical result.

1. Reduce the time of evacuation of passengers.

2. Increase the safety of evacuation means, including through control over them.

3. Increase the readiness of the means of evacuation for operation.

4. Provide safer evacuation conditions (at night with additional lighting).

5. They allow to immediately begin the search and rescue of passengers and vehicles to authorized services.

6. They allow providing immediate assistance to passengers, ensuring their more comfortable condition until the arrival of rescue services.

7. Reduce the requirements for the individual qualities of passengers for the use of rescue and evacuation equipment.

8. Increase the amount of usable space in transport.

The industrial production of multifunctional shelves in various configurations is technically feasible. Prototypes of multifunctional shelves are made. The tests performed showed their compliance with the specified technical conditions. The demonstration of shelves to potential consumers confirmed the successful choice of the proposed solution and showed its high demand.
