Abstract
Three dimensional anemometer comprising thick film segmented thermistors measures the speed of the wind by means of the method of heat loss. Segmented thick film NTC thermistors are heated by their self current under the constant voltage supply. They have more segments connected in series to measure temperature in average; moreover they use internal electrodes to measure wind speed on x,y, z – axes, forth measures air temperature and fifth measures humidity. Humidity sensor consists of two segmented thermistors put in Wheatstone bridge: first active – in contact with humidity and second isolated. Wind speed is obtained from calibration curves: thermistor current vs. wind speed, where temperature and humididty are parameters. Wind speed vector is obtained using projections on the axes. Than, modulo is calculated, and angles between speed vector and axes using modulo and projections on the axes. Data of 5 sensors are compared and applied by PC for wind energy monitoring and for remote control of windmill generators in real time.
