The installation according to the invention comprises a secondary adsorbent in which an activated charcoal layer is disposed and which is in contact with a main adsorbent, so that before it enters the heated petroleum gas saturated with water containing traces of heavy hydrocarbons having 14 or more carbon atoms in the molecule pass through the active carbon layer which retains the respective hydrocarbons, thus protecting a layer of adsorbent.
