Inventia se refera la un procedeu pentru prepararea unor sruri cuaternare de amoniu cu formula generala I: (vezi formula) în care R reprezinta un radical naftelin sau alchilnaftenil cu ciclu de 5 sau 6 atomi de carbon, A este o legatura simpla sau unul dintre radicalii: (vezi formula) R' reprezinta un atom de hidrogen, alchil cu 1...18 atomi de carbon, rest de alcooli grasi etoxilati cu 2...10 unitati de oxid de etilena sau rest de polialchilenglicol cu o masa moleculara medie de 200...60, X reprezinta clor, brom sau iod n este 1 sau 2, p este 1 sau 2, prin metilarea reductiva a aminelor primare cu acid formic si formaldehida în mediu de alcanoli inferior, la 40...100 degree C si cuaternizarea aminelor naftenilice metilate cu acizi sau esteri monohalogenati la o presiune cuprinsa între 1 si 55 at si temperaturi cuprinse între 60 si 145 degree C într-un solvent polar ales dintre alcanoli inferiori, alcool benzilic sau amestec de solventi ca alcool izopropilic si toluen.
