Procedeu conform caruia se foloseste pentru preîncalzirea carbunelui o parte din energia calorica obtinuta prin stingerea acestuia la cocsificare, continuta de un fluid de stingere sub forma de vapori de apa, avînd o temperatura de 200...600 degree C. Se revendica, de asemenea, un utilaj de realizare a procedeului format din mai multe unitati de uscare si prevazut cu un schimbator termic cu un perete conducator de caldura. Procedeul si instalatia sunt utilizate în industria de prelucrare a carbunelui.
