Abstract

The invention relates to an IoT system for detection, classification, counting and catching of insects from a monitored agricultural land, which is configured to send notifications and detection reports and to receive commands from an external system. According to the invention, the IoT system comprises: an electric energy supply subsystem (1100), a local electronic control subsystem (1200) comprising a processor, a volatile memory, a non-volatile memory, an interface for communication to a wireless communication network, a data acquisition and control interface which reads electric signals from a number of sensors and controls a number of actionable electric and/or electromechanical devices, which is configured to run at least one insects' monitoring, detection, classification, counting and catching program, an insect attracting subsystem (1300) which is configured to emit aerosols with biochemical attractants, light, sounds and/or electromagnetic fields specific to a certain type of insects and to attract the insects in the vicinity of the IoT system into a detection and catching zone, an insect detection subsystem (1400) which emits notifications or reports the detected presence of an insect to the electronic control subsystem, and a controllable catching subsystem (1500) configured to catch the insects in the detection area and to store them in a storing subsystem (1600).
