Abstract
The invention relates to a variety of "Costela" dwarf beans obtained by repeated individual selection from a segregated population recommended to be cultivated in all the crop areas of this species in the country, in primary or successive crops for fresh consumption and industrialization. The plants of the "Costela" variety are in the form of a 35-42 cm high bush, with a medium branching degree, with flowers grouped 2-3, rarely solitary and pink. The pastures at the technological maturity are 12-15 cm long, the middle median width is 0.8-1.1 cm, and in the section at the level of the grain, the pasta is narrow. Its color is green, light green, it is fleshy, without threads and without parchment. They contain 1.82% total sugar, 6.2% soluble dry matter and 0.13% starch. The dry beans are medium to large in size 285-295 g of 1000 grains, slightly reddened, in a circular section - slightly elliptical, and the color is beige. It is an early variety that shows resistance to common bean mosaic and bean virus 1 and has high tolerance to bacteriosis. The vegetation period is 50 days. Produces productions of over 14 t / ha pods.
