Abstract
Invenţia se referă la un soi de ardei gogoşar (Capsicum annuum L.) semitimpuriu, cu denumirea de Cornel, destinat culturii în câmp, obţinut prin mutageneză şi hibridare, urmată de selecţie individuală alternând cu autopolenizarea în descendenţele segregante, recomandat a se cultiva în toate zonele favorabile culturii ardeiului gogoşar, cu precădere în zonele de sud şi sud-est ale ţării, pentru consum în stare proaspătă şi industrializare. Este un soi cu plante viguroase, înalte (60...70 cm) cu 4...6 ramificaţii dispuse erect, cu frunziş bogat, de culoare verde-închis. Fructul este rotund, turtit, cu suprafaţa marcată de 3...4 lobi, cu diametrul de 10,22 cm în medie, înălţimea 4,56 cm în medie, greutatea de 200,5 g în medie, 3...4 loje seminale, cu pericarp 10...12 mm, colorat în verde cu intensitate puternică înainte de coacere şi roşu intens, lucios, la maturitatea fiziologică. Este un soi semitimpuriu, productiv (50...55 t/ha), cu o încărcătură de 6...9 fructe/plantă, din care 4...5 ajung la maturitatea fiziologică, tolerant la Verticillium dahliae şi Alternaria capsici annuui şi rezistent la Virusul Mozaicului Tutunului.
