Abstract

The process comprises homogenisation of industrial tellurium, treatment with 50-70% concn. nitric acid, reprecipitation, filtration, and heating to 50-80 deg.C. This is followed by stagewise addn. of hydrazide hydrate solution. Heating at 50-80 deg. for 2-4 hours, filtration, washing, drying at 80-110 deg.C fusion and pouring into ingot moulds under reducing or inert atmosphere, completes the process.
