Abstract

The invention relates to a device for the quick release of the compressed air accumulated in a tank and is used to ensure a constant flow pattern of bulk materials in bunkers or pipes. Generation of shock power is based on the flowing property of compressed air from a tank with a speed close to sound speed, if the size of the flowing section is correlated with the compressed air pressure. The shock wave force depends on the pressure and mass of the air accumulated in the tank and has values of thousands of daN at reasonable values of compressed air pressure and of tank volume. The quick release valve is designed so that it allows replacement of gaskets, chair or piston, through a mounting-dismounting operation easily performed even when the quick release device is mounted on a bunker.
