Abstract

A process for the preparation of vaccines effective against diseases caused by meningococcus is described, characterized by mixing an effective amount between 1 and 100 μg of at least: - OMVs isolated from meningococcus which express both homologous and heterologous Class I OMP; or of - at least one protein or a fragment or an oligopeptide, containing an epitope thereof, from the Class I meningococcal outer membrane; - with one or more appropriate formulation aids, such as adjuvants. Class I outer membrane proteins of Neisseria meningitidis or fragments or oligopeptides including Class I OMP epitopes which can be used for immunization against diseases caused by meningococcus are also described. <IMAGE>
