Abstract

(A) Thiadiazole derivs. of formula (I) are new: R=halo, trihalomethyl, pentahaloethyl, CH2F, CHF2, mono-, di-, tri- or tetra-fluoroethyl, fluoroalkylthio, fluoroalkoxy, MeS, MeSO2, trihalomethylsulphonyl, Me, Et or OMe; n=0-2; R1=H, 1-3C alkyl, 1-3C alkoxy, 1-2C alkylthio, 3-4C alkenylthio, 1.4C alkylsulphonyl, 1-4C alkylsulphinyl, CN, CONH2, 1-4C monoalkylcarbamoyl, 1-2C alkoxycarbonyl or NR3R4; R3 and R4=H, 1-4C alkyl or 2-4C alkenyl; R2=H, phenyl (opt. mono- or di-substd. by halo, CN and trihalomethyl), 1-4C mono- or di-alkylcarbamoyl, phenylcarbamoyl, 1-4C monoalkylthiocarbamoyl, 4-6C ketoalkenyl, CN, 1-4C alkylsulphonyl, 1-4C haloalkylsulphonyl or CO-(Y)mRs, Y=O or S; m=0-1; Rs=1-10C alkyl; 2-10C alkenyl; 2-8C alkynyl if m=0; 3-8C alkynyl in which the triple bond is sepd. from Y by at least one CH2 if m=1; 1-8C haloalkyl if m=0; 2-8C haloalkyl if m=1; 2-10C alkoxyalkyl if m=0; pyridyl if m=0; 3-10C alkoxyalkyl having at least 2C in the alkylene chain if m=1; or (R6)pR7; p=0-1; R6;1-2C alkylene; R7=phenyl (opt. substd. by halo), 3-7C cycloalkyl (opt. substd. by 1-3 Me), 2-5C alkoxycarbonyl, or 5- or 6-membered opt. unsatd. heterocyclyl contg. 1-20 and/or S and opt. substd. by 1-3 Me and 1-2 oxogps.; provided that (1) if n=1 and R is not F then R is at the 3-position; (2) if n=2 then the R's are at the 3- and 4-positions; and (3) when R1 =MeS and R2=isopropylcarboxy then R is not 2-F.
