Abstract
Anilides of formula (I) and their salts physiologically acceptable to plants are new: (where R1 = 1-4C alkyl or alkoxy, or halo. R2 = 1-3C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy or halo. R3=H, 1-3C alkyl or halo. R4 = H or CH3, the total no. of C is R1, R2, R3 and R4 is not >6. R5 = 1-5C alkyl (opt. substd. by halo), phenyl (opt. substd. by CH3, NO2 and/or halo) or benzyl. R6=H or 1-5C alkyl). They are made e.g. by acylating the corresp. N-(1-methoxycarbonylethyl) aniline. (I) are microbicides useful for control of bacteria and fungi. They are esp. useful against Phycomycetes and have a systemic action. They can be used as disinfectants for treating seeds, young plants and soil.
