1Drinking cups or travel mugs with a dispensing cap are well known in the art. Typically, said cap has a cover body extending over the mouth of the cup or cup with an aperture which allows the passage of liquid when a user wants to drink. When the travel cup or mug is not being used for drinking, that aperture may be filled by a movable cover attached to the cover body. 1
Exemplos de corpos de cobertura com uma tampa amovível para a distribuição de líquido desde um recipiente são divulgados nos documentos US 5950848, US 5551607, US 5865353, US 5495015 US 5417350, US 5348201, US 5251793, US 4911337, US 4899902 US 4887747, US 4742928, US 4703873, US 4632266, US 4625898 US 4399928, US 4124151 e EP 0078322.Examples of cover bodies with a removable cap for dispensing liquid from a container are disclosed in U.S. 5,950,848, U.S. 5,551,607, U.S. 5,517,523, U.S. 5,517,550, U.S. 5,517,550, U.S. 5,517,350, U.S. 5,517,350, U.S. 4742928, US 4703873, US 4632266, US 4625898, US 4399928, US 4124151 and EP 0078322.
In particular, US5,551,607 discloses a container with a dispensing cap. The dispensing cap is pivotally mounted on a base secured to the container, the base having a through port for the liquid outlet which can be opened and closed by the dispensing cap. The hinged rotation of the dispensing cap is controlled by a trigger and regulated by a guide wall member, which are configured to hold the hinged cap in an open position, until a user manually moves the cap to the closed position. US 4899902 discloses a lid for a liquid container having a liquid spout with a cover adapted to fit over the nozzle by snap fit and which can be removed and replaced with one hand. It is mentioned, inter alia, that the cap may further include a small aperture or orifice to relieve accumulated air pressure.
It is known that the use of these additional small openings for the intake of air, when the liquid is distributed through the nozzle, facilitates the distribution of liquid. However, these air intakes carry the risk of unwanted liquid spills through them, especially when drinking. There is therefore still a need to provide a reliable system that is simple for transporting a beverage and practical and reliable to allow drinking therein. US 969193 discloses a mug as described in the preamble of claim 1 of the underlying invention.
Sumário da InvençãoSummary of the Invention
Accordingly, the invention relates to a cover of or for a container for containing a fluid substance. The cover may be a wall integrated in a container or, typically, a removable lid. The container may be of any type, for example, with an insulation, typically of the term type. In a preferred embodiment, the container is a beverage mug or cup, typically having a bottom, a generally vertical side wall and a generally circular mouth that is apt to be covered by such a cover.
Typically, a drinking cup or mug has a capacity of between 50 and 1000 mL, e.g. 150 to 500 mL, and a larger diameter, e.g. the mouth of the cup or mug, comprised between 3 to 15 cm, in particular, 5 to 10 cm. The cover has: a cover body configured to cover the container, the body having a peripheral portion with a through aperture for an outlet of a fluid substance from the container and with an air passageway through which the air enters the container ; as well as a cover movable relative to the cover body, between an open position to enable said fluid outlet and air inlet, and a closed position to prevent said fluid outlet and air inlet. The cover has a first portion and a second closure portion, in the closed position, of the fluid outlet port and the inflow port, respectively. The fluid material may typically be a fluid, such as a beverage, in particular, hot or cold beverages, such as coffee, tea, hot chocolate, milk-based beverages, soft drinks or liquor, lemonade, soups, babies, etc.
According to the invention, the inflow passage opening and the outlet passage opening are located opposite each other in the peripheral part of the cover body, the cover extending in the closed position from an area adjacent the opening of inflow passage through the cover body to an area adjacent the outlet passage opening.
Thus, spaced and opposing positioning of these through openings in the cover reduces the risks of unwanted spillage of the fluid material through the air inflow passage during the delivery of the fluid material. In addition, the combination of the seal parts on the same cap enables simultaneous opening and closing of the through apertures by the same cap member. The lid may be pivotally mounted to the cover body, in particular, adjacent the inflow port. Typically, the cap has a first end that is pivotally mounted to the cap body and a second end configured to be attached to the cap body in the closed position, the second end, in particular, a protrusion or recess cooperating with a respective recess or corresponding projection of the cover body for securing the cover to the cover body in the closed position. Attachment of the cap in the closed position may, for example, be achieved by the use of clips, snap-fit, use of hooks, push-button or other equivalent fastening mechanism.
In an advantageous embodiment, the lid, in its open position, is configured to extend downwardly, along a generally vertical wall of the container in which the cover body is located, the container wall being adjacent to the container wall. cover body. Thus, when the inflow and outflow passage openings are open, e.g. for drinking, a user can securely hold the cap against the container wall with the same hand that it uses to grasp the container itself. Therefore, in order to prevent the open lid from moving freely and possibly bothering the user while drinking, no separate mechanism is required to secure the lid in its open position, the lid being open and the container being simultaneously grasped by the user with a just hand The cover body has a base. The peripheral portion of the body comprises one or more protrusions protruding outwardly from the base, the outlet passage opening being located on an outer protrusion. The inflow port may be located in the base. The outlet passageway may be configured to conform to lips to facilitate drinking through the aperture. The outlet passage opening is located on an outer annular protrusion. The annular outer protrusion generally forms an open ring in the cover body with ends facing one another. The cover may be pivotally mounted on the cover body between these facing ends and / or the inflow passageway may be located at the base between these facing ends. Thus, the hinged attachment part of the cap may have an outer surface which is generally flush with the annular flange, so as to close the corresponding circuit in the cap body. Thus, the possibility of engaging the cover with the environment is minimized, so that any part can not protrude when the cover is in its closed position.
In its closed position, the cover normally extends diametrically through the cover body from the peripheral portion on one side of the cover body through the cover body means to the opposite side of the peripheral portion. The cap may have a rigid structural member and at least one resiliently deformable stop member for closing off the inflow / outlet passage openings, the elastically deformable stopper member being optionally coextensive with the closure member structure. The cap may have a cap or protrusion, in particular, an elastically deformable cap or protrusion, to plug the air inflow passageway or outlet. In particular, the cap may have a pair of such buffers or projections to close the through apertures. A portion of the cap may form a capsule to cover a tubular shaped outlet or inlet forming one of these through openings in the shell body. Various configurations may be devised to form the through openings in the cover body and the cooperating shutter portions of the cover.
In a first embodiment of the invention, the cover is removably attached to a corresponding container, in particular by screwing or forcely engaging the container therein. In a second embodiment of the invention, the cover is integrated into the container, the container in particular having a removable bottom for refilling thereof. It is also possible to use the fluid outlet port of the cover body to refill the container.
A further aspect of the invention relates to a container having a cover, as described above, in particular, a mug or cup, having such a cover for dispensing a beverage contained in the mug or cup.
OF THE DRAWINGS The invention will now be described with reference to the schematic drawings, in which: Figure 1 shows a cross-sectional view of a container with a cover according to the invention; and Figure 2 shows a perspective view of part of the container with its cover shown in Fig.
In Figures 1 and 2, there is shown a removable cover 1 with a lid 20 mounted on a container 2 in the form of a mug to contain a fluid material, such as coffee, tea, hot or cold chocolate, or a refrigerant . In Fig. 1, the cap 20 is shown in its closed position on the cover 1. In Fig. 2, the cover 20 is in its open position. The container 2 has insulating walls formed by a generally vertical outer side wall 3 extending from a bottom 5 and attached at the upper end 8 to an inner wall 4, the cross-section of which is U-shaped. An isolation cavity 7 extends between the inner wall 4 on the one hand, and the side and bottom wall 3, on the other hand. The mouth 9 of the container 2 is generally circular.
Further, the container 2 has a generally frustoconical inner collar 6, in which the removable cover 1 is forcibly assembled as described in more detail below. The removable cover 1 has a cover body 10 extending substantially along the entire mouth 9 of the container 2. In addition, the cover 1 has an elongated cover 20 having a first end 20a, which is pivotally mounted on the cover body 10. The cap 20 has a general shape of a profiled strip to conform to the shape of the cap body 10 when the cap 20 is in its closed position. The cover body 10 has an outlet passageway 11 through which liquid emerges from the container 2 and an inflow passageway 12 through which the air enters the container 2 to compensate for the liquid flowing out. The fluid outlet passage opening 11 is formed on an annular ring 13 protruding outwardly from the base 14. The ring 13 is open and has two ends 15 facing each other, one of which is shown in Fig. 2 The inflow passage opening 12 is located in the base 14 between the ends 15 of the annular ring 13a. The cap 20 is pivotable about its end 20a between the ends 15 of the ring 13. The cap 20 can rotate from an open position, as shown in Figure 2, to allow exit through the aperture 11 and inflow through the aperture 12 to a closed position, as shown in Fig. 1, to prevent outlet and inflow. To this end, the cap 20 has a plug 21 for sealing the fluid outlet port 11 and a flange 22 to close off the inlet port 12 when the cap 20 is in its closed position. The inflow passage opening 11 and the outlet passage opening 12 are located opposite one another on a peripheral portion of the cover body 10, the cover 20 extending in the closed position from an area adjacent the aperture 12 by way of the cover body 10, to an area adjacent the outlet passage opening 11. The cap 20 has a second end 20b configured to be secured to the cover body 10 in the closed position. The second end 20b has a protrusion 23 cooperating with a corresponding respective recess 16 in the ring 13 of the cover body 10 to secure the cover 20 against the cover body 10 in the closed position. In its closed position, the cap 20 extends diametrically through the cover body 10, i. between the ends 15 of the ring 13, along a portion of the middle of the base 14 and along the ring 13. The base 14 has a recess 14a for receiving the cap 20 in the closed position.
As shown in Fig. 2, the cap 20, in its open position, is configured to extend downwardly along the generally vertical wall 3 of the container 2. Thus, when a user grasps the container 2 for drinking, with one hand may at the same time keep the cap 20 movable against the wall 3 by suitably tightening the container 2 with the cap 20. The cap has a rigid structural element 25 and at least one element 25 elastically deformable shutter. The obturator member 26 incorporates the cap 21 and the flange 22 to seal the inflow and outlet passage openings 11, The elastically deformable seal member 26 is generally coextensive with the rigid structural member 25. The cover 1 can be fixed to the container 2 in a removable manner. To this end, the cover body 10 has a circular peripheral vertical wall 17 extending downwardly into the mouth 9 of the container 2. The wall 17 has an integrated peripheral flange 18 extended outwardly to position correctly and horizontally the cover 1 against the inner rim 6 of the container 2. The base 14 of the cover body 10 extends horizontally over the inner rim 6 for the positioning of the cover body 10, generally above the mouth 9. A sealing ring 19 , and. manufactured from an elastic or elastomeric material, is located between the peripheral wall 17 and the inner collar 6, so as to provide a leak-tight assembly to the fluid material retained in the container 2. Typically, the sealing ring 19 is mounted on the wall 17 and forced against the inner collar 6 when the cover 1 is forcibly engaged in the container 2.
In one variant, it is obviously possible to provide the rim of the container and the cover with corresponding threads so as to be able to screw the cover over or into the container. Alternatively, it is also possible to provide a cover portion integrated in the container and a configuration for refilling and replenishing the mug with fluid material, e.g. through the fluid outlet port or through a dedicated separate port or through the bottom of the vessel which may be provided with a detachable base.
