When the warp for glass fabrics is gathered around a loom shaft, after the surface finishing some of the contiguous threads of the warp get stuck to each other. The contiguous threads sticking together are liable to form a nap when separated. The nap of glass fabrics adversely affects the quality of the copper-covered laminates. This problem is solved by incorporating a water-soluble urethane compound in a finishing agent for the warp. The resulting surface finishing agent has low adhesive properties yet is resistant to mechanical friction as observed on a bobbin during the weaving.
