Abstract
Description
MÁQUINA E PROCESSO PARA A FABRICAÇÃO DE PAPEL E CARTÃOMACHINE AND PROCESS FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF PAPER AND CARDBOARD
The present invention relates to a new machine and process for the production of pulp to manufacture paper and cardboard from the fibrous material, rich in cellulose, of which coconut shells are made. In the harvest and extraction of copra (or endocarp) - fleshy portion of the coconut, of great use in industry - the hard shell and the outer shell (epicarp) of the coconut are, in most cases, wasted since its usefulness, until today , has only been directed to the textile industry and, even so, in limited incipient quantity.
The schematic machine performs a single sequential operation with maintenance mechanisms for simultaneous treatment of several units of the fruit (coconut).
The inventors of the present patent application, after an elaborate study, found that the cellular structure of the coconut shell has properties that can lead to obtaining a biodegradable product, of high robustness, be it paper or cardboard.
Cellulose only exists in plant matter. In general, it is chemically inactive and insoluble in most liquids. The paper is almost exclusively made from cellulose. Thus, since the coconut shell is composed of long fibers rich in cellulose, such fibers can be processed to obtain paper or board. The present invention therefore presents a useful process for transforming an ambiguous raw material in tropical countries (previously almost totally wasted) into a valuable final product - paper pulp. It is undoubtedly a non-obvious process because such raw material has never been used for a similar purpose.
The manufacture of paper using coconut husks will take advantage of the state of the art of the paper industry that processes wood pulp, introducing the innovations necessary to adapt it to the new raw material.
São as seguintes as patentes que reflectem o actual estado da técnica :The patents that reflect the current state of the art are as follows:

Then, they are mixed with a liquid solution in an aqueous suspension or dispersion which, in a tank called Dutch refinery (in English Holland), turns into a homogeneous mass, called pulp. This pulp has a consistency sufficiently fluid to be spread by means of a jet on a moving canvas, which, in the paper industry, is called a grid (in English wire). This grid is the appropriate means to accommodate the wet pulp at the top of the porous mesh with uniform thickness, from which the excess liquid flows. The pulp then passes through two cylinders with different functions: one presses the pulp to drain the remaining liquid and the other aligns the sheet, which, guided by felt, passes through heated calenders, for drying and finally

The last equipment in the traditional sequence is the device that cuts the sheets and rolls them up in reels.
The papermaking process that is the subject of the present invention follows the traditional phases, but, as mentioned, it became necessary to add innovations to the state of the art in order to adapt the machine to the new raw material: coconut shells.
In fact, it is about encompassing two distinct industries in a single operating system: the use of coconut and the manufacture of paper and cardboard.
A press (3) and a plunger (4) moved vertically by a motor (8) actuate with synchronized movements: a perforating blade (5) that pierces the coconut in the longitudinal direction, and the coconut water is received in a container in the part bottom of the machine (10), equipped with a valve and an outlet pipe to use coconut water in an independent industry; a guillotine blade (6) cuts the coconut in two halves; a concave cutting blade (7), with a rotating axis and circular movement, with
Os produtos contidos nestes três reservatórios vão interferindo sucessivamente no processamento daseveral strokes extract the copra from the two halves, the copra being received in a container (11) that has a tapered shape and through whose lower opening the copra leaves and is deposited on a conveyor (12) that transports it to be used in an independent industry; and a multifaceted blade that, with upward and downward movements, multi-shreds the shells (9). The pieces follow on a conveyor belt (13) until they pass through a series of compressing cylinders (14) that will crush these pieces, reducing them to granules. In this phase, the defibrated material is heated so that it reaches the maximum degree of dryness, which will facilitate the subsequent phases of water drainage. The granules then enter a treatment tank (hollander type), (16), where they will be separated from impurities (sand, garbage, etc.) (15). The granules are heated under pressure and soaked in a solution of sodium hydroxide or calcium hydrosulfite, or an equivalent solution, to dissolve lignose (a type of fibrous glue that holds all the cellulose together, including the one in the coconut shells). There are three reservoirs on the upper part of the machine: one of binder product (17), which can be rosin, extracted from pine resin, or an artificial resin, or sodium hydroxide and aluminum sulfate; the second reservoir is for a bleaching product (18), which will be chlorine dioxide, for example; the third reservoir is a coloring product (19). The products contained in these three reservoirs are successively interfering in the processing of
polpa. At this stage the fibers are not yet fully dissolved and would produce, if used, a very rough paper. To avoid clumps, knots, etc., the pulp is passed through a solution of water with sodium sulfite, and the excess water is removed by flow. The pulp is guided under pressure, through a tube, to another tank (hollander), where it is shaken and kneaded to reduce the fiber to tiny granules. This is due to a series of cylinders that contain cutting blades that pass through among other identical blades fixed on a metal base. When passing through these slides placed interdigitally, the pulp is completely disintegrated, but the cellulose still looks like hair.
A grade é móvel e vai passar por uma máquina convencional de papel, tipo Fourdrinier (21), contendo vários cilindros aquecidos, prensas compressoras e meios de evaporação de água que, por compressão e sucção, extraem a água ainda existente naIn addition to the binding substance, a complement (talc or barium sulfate) can be added, this consistency being kept within predetermined limits by means of a sensor that emits a signal, which activates a discharge valve for the material contained in the reservoir (17 ). The resulting homogeneous mass is then expelled in jets, through a valve, on the grid (20) and deposited there on the upper surface with a uniform thickness, already as a sheet. The grid is a wire mesh that will allow the insufflation of hot air through it and, through draining, the pulp will lose much of the water. The grid is mobile and will pass through a conventional paper machine, type Fourdrinier (21), containing several heated cylinders, presses and water evaporation means that, by compression and suction, extract the water that still exists in the
At this stage, the pulp is already presented with a paper sheet texture, it is released from the grid and enters a mat (22) where it will pass under heavy steam-heated iron cylinders (23), which compress it further to extract some water and obtain complete drying. The sheet of paper finally passes through cast iron cylinders, called calenders, under high pressure, to produce the smooth finish and the final shine. The paper or cardboard thus produced (24) can be white or any other color, depending on the product that is placed in the respective reservoir (19).
It is a very resistant material, biodegradable, and can be of different textures and categories, depending on the current need in the paper industry.
Neste caso, serão desligadas - ou inexistentes - na máquina as três lâminas com que se inicia a operação sequencial, isto é, a lâmina perfuradora (5), aThis invention is intended either for the manufacture of pulp for paper and cardboard from whole coconuts (starting the process with the extraction of coconut water and copra, which are directed for independent industrial purposes), or, alternatively, to the production of pulp for paper and cardboard using the coconut husks that are already empty. In this case, the three blades with which the sequential operation begins, that is, the perforating blade (5), the

Logo, o valor económico da invenção é muito alto.-8The most important feature of this invention is that the paper made from coconut shells will use an abundant raw material in tropical countries where it is practically wasted. Therefore, the economic value of the invention is very high.
Relevant is also the idea that there is, from now on, an alternative source for the paper industry, in a society concerned with the ecology and conservation of trees.

Máquina e processo para a fabricação de papel e cartão a partir das cascas do côcoMachine and process for the manufacture of paper and cardboard from coconut shells
Resumoresume
The present invention relates to an industrial machine and a new process for obtaining pulp for paper and cardboard from the fibrous material rich in cellulose that consists of the husks (epicarp) of the coconut, which, once crumbed, flattened and saturated with water and certain chemicals, they can be transformed into a gradable biode amalgam equivalent to the wood pulp extracted from the trees.
A press (3) and a plunger (4), moved vertically by a motor (8), actuate: a perforating blade (5), which pierces the coconut in the longitudinal direction, the water being collected in a container (10); a guillotine blade (6) that opens the coconut in two halves; a concave and rotating cutter blade (7) which extracts the medium, or copra, which is collected in a container (11); and a multifaceted blade for cutting and shredding the shells (9). The crushed shells fall on a conveyor belt (13) and are then compressed by cylinders that will reduce them to granules. These granules enter a tank (16) where they are mixed with water and separated from the impurities (15). They are then heated under pressure and soaked in a solution of sodium hydroxide, calcium hydrosulfide, or equivalent solution, to dissolve the lignose. Cellulosic fibers for-8-
To avoid agglomerates, knots, etc., the pulp still passes through water and a percentage of sodium sulfite. The excess water is removed by flow and the pulp passes under pressure through a device that has a series of cylinders provided with cutting blades that roll interdigitally between identical blades fixed on a metal base, to disintegrate the pulp. In the upper part of the machine there are three reservoirs: one for binder product (17) (natural or synthetic resin, sodium hydroxide and aluminum sulfate), one for whitening product (18) and one for coloring product (18). A complement can be added to give consistency (talc or barium sulfate). The mass is expelled (20) by jets on the grid (21) (consisting of a metal mesh) where it is uniformly deposited. Hot air is blown through the grid, causing drying. The grid is mobile and circulates through a Fourdrinier machine (21) that, using heated cylinders and presses, extracts the residual water. Through a belt (22) the pulp passes through heavy steam-heated iron cylinders and cast iron cylinders, calenders, under high pressure, for final finishing.
Pela esteira (2) as cascas de coco vazias seguemThis invention not only uses the whole coconut using water and copra for a different industrial purpose, but it can also, alternatively, process, to obtain pulp, coconut shells already without water or copra. In this case, the three blades with which the process begins, that is, the perforator (5), the guillotine cutter (6) and the concave and rotary blade (7) are disconnected. Through the mat (2) the empty coconut shells follow
