According to the invention, the self-timer of a life jacket gas cartridge with a spring-loaded firing pin has a spring locking mechanism consisting of a sleeve with notches, a piston with a groove on the perimeter and balls simultaneously in the notches and the recess, with the balls held in such a position, a band made of a material sensitive to the action of water. The invention brings advantageous results in relation to the known solution of the spring lock of the tablet, namely it allows to eliminate the disadvantage of the low mechanical strength of the tablet, limiting the amount of the spring force in direct locking. Intermediate blockade, reducing the pressure on the pellet, complicates the construction of the self-timer. The subject of the invention is shown in the example of the embodiment in the drawing showing the self-release of the gas cartridge. The body 1 has inside the needles 11, slidably mounted by means of a stop ring 12, and an additional sealed gasket 13 The gas cartridge 2, when screwed into the body 1, causes the needle 11 to move back to its original position, with the needle point 11 resting on the gas cartridge plug 2. The sleeve 3 of the spring trigger mechanism is screwed to the body 1 in the axis of the needle 11.
