Element tlumiacy ma ksztalt cylindra 1 wykonanego z welny bazaltowej o masie objetosciowej 136 kg/m3, o grubosci wlókien 7 /im, o dlugosci wlókien 10 mm, z zawartoscia 3,2% wagowych zywicy fenolo¬ wo-formaldehydowej. PLThe subject of the invention is a damping element used as an insert for exhaust mufflers for passenger cars. So far used inserts for exhaust mufflers with a cross-section in the shape of an ellipse were produced on the basis of mineral wool obtained from decant, for which F-50 resins were used as binders. in an amount of 12% by weight. During the operation of these cartridges, losses in the weight of the cartridge were found as a result of tearing out mineral fibers from the damper element, a perforated exhaust pipe with the exhaust fumes leaving the exhaust pipe. 200 kg / m3, with a fiber thickness of up to / m and a fiber length of 10 mm, containing from 3 to 4% by weight of phenol-formaldehyde resin. The damping element has the shape of a cylinder made of a mineral or glass wool containing phenol-formaldehyde resin as a binder. In the circumference of the circumference, the cylinder is cut lengthwise such that the cut of the cylinder wall is complete on one side, and the opposite wall is cut to about one third of its thickness. This makes it possible to fit a damping element on the exhaust pipe without the need to cut the cylinder forming the damping element into two halves. The inner surface of the cylinder is preferably covered with a layer of glass veil. The solution according to the invention is shown in the embodiment example in the drawing. The damping element has the shape of a cylinder 1 made of basalt wool with a volumetric mass of 136 kg / m3, a fiber thickness of 7 µm, a fiber length of 10 mm, containing 3.2% by weight of phenol-formaldehyde resin. At its circumference, the cylinder 1 is cut lengthwise in such a way that the cut 2 of the wall of the cylinder 1 is completely cut on the one side and the opposite wall has a cut 3 to one third of its thickness. The inner surface of the cylinder 1 is covered with a layer of glass veil 4.2 98 297 According to the invention, the damping element is more durable in use. By using less binder, it has less brittleness and increased resistance to vibration. The use of a layer of glass wool on the inner surface of the damping element, ie on the contact surface with the perforated exhaust pipe, prevents the glass fibers from tearing out of the damping element.
