Sposoby te, w szczególnosci gdy ma sie do czynienia z wysokiemi i gesto rosnacemi drzewami, sa trudne do przeprowadzenia i nie daja pozadanego rezultatu, to jest równomiernego rozmieszczenia trujacej sub¬ stancji na calej powierzchni drzewa. Prócz tego substancje trujace osadzone na drze¬ wach przy pomocy obsypywania lub opry¬ skiwania, latwo sa splókiwane przez deszcz lub strzasane wiatrem.Sposób opisany ponizej polega na wy^ parowaniu trujacych substancyj przy po¬ mocy odpowiednich swiec, które palac sie, wydzielaja dym osadzajacy sie nastepnie na lisciach lub szpilkach drzew w postaci delikatnej warstwy trujacej substancji.Osiaga sie tym sposobem przy uzyciu dosta¬ tecznej ilosci swiec, latwe i przenikajace wszedzie trujace dzialanie na szkodniki drzew. Osad trujacej substancji w ten spo¬ sób na lisciach wytworzony nie spada od wiatru i trudniej jest splókiwany deszczem.Swiece uzywane do tego celu skladaja sie z trujacej substancji lub cial wytwarza¬ jacych przy paleniu sie dym trujacy np. arsenawego kwasu, arsenianów i tym po¬ dobnych zwiazków oraz cial dostarczaja¬ cych cieplo do wyparowania tych substan¬ cyj, jak np. saletra, nadchloran potasowy, wegiel, glin i tym podobne.Przyklad. Swieca jest wykonana z papieru i ma postac cylindra o grubosciscian 2 mm, srednicy 8 cm i wysokosci 30 cm, który u dolu jest zamkniety drewnia- nem denkiem, u góry zaopatrzony w odpo¬ wiedni zapal i zabezpieczony tekturowem zamknieciem. Swieca naladowana jest mie¬ szanina njp. 980 g bezwodnika arsenawego, 280 g nadchloranu potasowego, 56 g dwu- nitrobenzolu, 56 g wegla drzewnego i w górnej czesci zaopatrzona w odpowied¬ ni zapalnik. PL PLThe hitherto methods of destroying the parasites of trees in forests and gardens consisted in spraying them with poisonous liquids or sprinkling them with powdered poisons. These methods, in particular when dealing with tall and densely growing trees, are difficult to carry out and do not give the desired result, that is, evenly distributing the poisonous substance over the entire surface of the tree. Besides, poisonous substances deposited on trees by sprinkling or spraying are easily washed away by rain or blown by the wind. Then it spreads on the leaves or the pins of trees in the form of a delicate layer of poisonous substance. It works in this way with the use of a sufficient number of candles, easy and penetrating everywhere poisonous action on tree pests. The deposition of the poisonous substance on the leaves in this way does not fall off the wind and is more difficult to stain with rain. Similar compounds and bodies providing heat for the evaporation of these substances, such as, for example, saltpeter, potassium perchlorate, carbon, aluminum and the like. The candle is made of paper and has the form of a cylinder 2 mm thick, 8 cm in diameter and 30 cm high, closed at the bottom with a wooden bottom, provided with a suitable ignition at the top and secured with a cardboard closure. The candle is loaded with a mixture of e.g. 980 g of arsenous anhydride, 280 g of potassium perchlorate, 56 g of dinitrobenzole, 56 g of charcoal and provided on the top with a suitable igniter.
