Bohaterów Studzianek, Pionki (Poland) Method of marking the degree and uniformity of shot coverage on a target when testing the utility value of hunting ammunition. The subject of the invention is a method of marking the degree and uniformity of shot coverage on a target when testing the utility value of hunting ammunition. The known and generally applicable method of marking the degree and uniformity of shot coverage on a shooting target consists in shooting at a control paper target with a diameter of seventy-five centimeters, divided into an appropriate number of fields, placed at a distance of twenty-five meters from the muzzle of the shotgun barrel and each time after firing, counting the number of holes created in the individual fields of the target. The degree and uniformity of shot coverage on the target is determined by the ratio of the resulting holes in individual target fields, to the number of shot grains contained in the fired cartridges. The disadvantages of this method are: high laboriousness resulting from counting the number of holes in the target, high paper consumption, lack of possibility of recovering the material from which the shot is made, and the necessity of frequent presence of the staff at the firing line (removing and hanging the control targets). The proposed method of weight marking (the degree and uniformity of target coverage with shot while examining the utility value of hunting ammunition) eliminates the disadvantages of the previous method. The method according to the invention consists in shooting from a distance of thirty-five meters into a container whose inlet opening, with a diameter of seventy-five centimeters is divided by partitions inside the container, forming an appropriate number of chambers from which the shot grains are captured into separate containers. After firing the required number of shots into the container, the shot content in the individual containers is weighed and by comparing it with the total weight of the shot contained in the series of cartridges fired, the degree and uniformity of shot coverage of the target is calculated in a known manner. The method according to the invention reduces the cost of ammonia testing by eliminating the need to use paper targets, enables the recovery of the material from which the shot is made, shortens the testing time and ensures full operational safety. An example solution of the container for carrying out the method according to the invention is shown in the attached drawing, in which Fig. Figure 1 shows the container from the front, and Figure 2 shows the container from the side. The container is made of a steel sheet in the shape of a tube with an elliptical cross-section perpendicular to its axis, which, when cut at an angle of 30° to the longitudinal axis, has a circular shape. Inside the tube, partitions 1 are placed along the tube, dividing it into sixteen chambers, four of which are equal in length. Each chamber in the rear part has a shot container, which is a part of a tube 2 closed with a detachable bag 3 made of fabric or other material.
