Abstract

The subject of the invention is a system for detecting protein, in particular albumin in a sample of biological material in liquid form, in particular urine, consisting of an optical light source (1), which is a laser, an optical fiber (2) delivering a beam generated by the optical light source (1) to a measuring cuvette (4) with a functionalized layer (3) containing antibodies, and a detector (5). The subject of the invention is also a method for detecting protein, using the system. The first reference measurement is carried out in a measuring cuvette (4) with a functionalized layer of antibodies without a tested substance, while the second measurement is carried out in a measuring cuvette (4) with a solution with a tested substance. Based on the analysis of the intensity levels of optical spectra, it is determined whether a protein has attached to the surface of the measuring cuvette (4), and the detection of protein causes a decrease in the signal intensity.
