Abstract

The subject of the application is a method of producing granulate from sludge originating from metallurgical processes, especially converter and/or blast furnace processes. The method of producing granulate from sludge originating from metallurgical processes, especially converter and/or blast furnace processes, consists in adding a reducer, which is a hydrogen carrier, to the sludge waste gases in the form of dense sludge resulting from spraying water generated during the smelting of pig iron and/or steel. preferably urea and quicklime, as a result of which the wet sludge is initially dehydrated, forming a plastic pulp, which, after initial formation, is introduced into the pelletizer, where the pelletizing process produces granules with a size ranging from 5 to 25 mm. A reducer added to the sludge is urea in in the solid state it constitutes up to 25% of the weight of the sludge, while the quicklime added to the sludge constitutes up to 12% of the weight of the mixture of sludge and the urea reducer.
