Ziarno ma co najmniej jedną wewnętrzną przegrodę o właściwościach termoizolacyjnych wbudowaną w osiowo symetryczne ziarno, wydłużającą drogę spalania stałego materiału pędnego względem dyszy silnika rakietowego. Przegrodę stanowi co najmniej jedna płyta (3) o średnicy mniejszej od średnicy ziarna, usytuowana koncentrycznie w osi ziarna. W innym wykonaniu przegrodę stanowi co najmniej jeden pierścień w kształcie odcinka rury o długości mniejszej od długości ziarna, usytuowany koncentrycznie w osi ziania i przylegający dolną krawędzią do podstawy ziarna od strony dyszy (6).
