Korzystnie, oczyszczanie odpadowego kwasu siarkowego prowadzi się w kolumnie, ewentualnie wypełnionej szklanymi lub teflonowymi pierścieniami Raschiga, w zakresie temperatur od 130°C do 210°C, korzystnie od 150°C do 200°C.
