Abstract
The method of producing chitosan carriers with immobilized photosensitizers is that an aqueous solution of the chitosan salt, optionally containing an excipient such as 5-aminolevulinic acid, iron (III) oxide, is added in the form of drops to an intensely mixed aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide. The chitosan carrier formed as a dropwise addition in the form of a spherical hydrogel is left in the hydroxide solution for 1 - 48 hours, then separated from the hydroxide solution and rinsed with demineralized water until the pH of the water after rinsing is equal to the pH of the water before rinsing. Then the spherical hydrogel carrier is flooded with an aqueous solution of photosensitizer or photosensitizers, leaves the carrier flooded with a solution of photosensitizer or photosensitizers for a period of 12 - 48 hours and finally washed away with excess water of photosensitizer or photosensitizer.
