Abstract
The subject of the invention is a new strain of Lactobacillus plantarum PL2, its metabolite and their use in the treatment of fungal and bacterial infections. The new strain Lactobacillus plantarum PL2 has been deposited in the Polish Microorganism Collection in Wrocław under accession number: B / 00078. The subject of the invention is a metabolite obtained from the cultivation of the strain Lactobacillus plantarum PL2, which has antifungal and antibacterial properties. The metabolite contains acids, in particular 3-phenyl lactic and β-dodecalactone and peptides, including primarily the peptide defined by the sequence NH2-LNPQLELVLLV-COOH. Also disclosed is the use of the Lactobacillus plantarum PL2 strain and / or the metabolite produced by the Lactobacillus plantarum PL2 strain as an agent that inhibits the growth and / or reduces the growth of the population of pathogenic fungi.
