Abstract

The subject of the invention is a device for electrostatic separation of dust, i.e. solid particles, especially submicron particles and nanoparticles, from the flue gas stream in low-power solid fuel combustion installations. The device is an electrostatic precipitator powered by a high voltage generator (1), producing direct current, the body (2) of the device is made of electrically conductive material and is grounded, and inside it is mounted a steel discharge electrode (3), in the shape of a thin wire, generating a corona discharge, located in the axis of the exhaust duct and preferably directed in the direction of the exhaust gas flow. The electrode attachment (3) is perpendicular to the axis of the flue gas channel and is preferably covered entirely with a ceramic or plastic insulator. The insulator is sheathed by a pipe, creating a circular cross-section duct in which there is overpressure relative to the flue gas duct (8), generated by a fan (6), which presses the shielding air inside the body (7) of the device and further the flue duct, on the external wall of which an inspection opening (9) is located. The discharge electrode (3) made of thin steel wire is terminated with numerous protrusions (10) arranged radially. It is preferred that the corona electrode (3) protrudes beyond the end of the tube. In a variant, the corona electrode is terminated with a toothed crown ionizer with teeth pointing outside and inside its circumference. An orifice is placed on the axial segment of the insulator, which causes the accumulation of air stream, keeping the internal surface of the pipe clean.
