Abstract
The subject of the invention is a microbiological electrolyzer for the separation of hydrogen, in which the anode and cathode are partially immersed in the same electrically conductive solution, where the electrolyser tank in the cover (1) has a brush electrode (2) installed, on the opposite side the electrolyser has a diffusion gas electrode (4) modified by applying special coatings to both surfaces. In the upper wall of the electrolyser body there are two connectors (9) and (10), where the connector (9) is used for fuel dosing, and the outlet connector (10) performs the function of degassing carbon dioxide. The bottom wall of the electrolyser body has a third connector (11) for sampling and anolyte replacement, and the side wall of the electrolyser has a fourth connector (8) for receiving hydrogen. Also disclosed is a method of separating the hydrogen from a microbiological electrolyser. The method consists in the fact that the degradation taking place in the electrolyser results in the evolution of carbon dioxide on the anode, which is discharged into the atmosphere and hydrogen on the cathode, whereby hydrogen is collected as a carrier of processed energy for further use.
