The storage reel for dispensing electrical cable has a drum with a hub (140) to receive the cable and two end flanges (110,120). The drum is mounted for rotation around an axis fixed to a support (130) with a transport handle (150). The handle has two side stops (152a, 153a) for the cable, positioned on the inner face of each flange.
