Abstract

A convertible structure, e.g. portable flooring (1) comprising a plurality of (hereinafter) laths (2) and means hinging the laths (2) together edge to edge such that they can be formed into a roll, wherein each latch (2) is of constant cross section and has opposed upper (6) and lower (4) faces adapted to form a floor face and a ground engaging face respectively, and opposed side edges (5) extending between the upper (6) and lower faces (4) and which taper inwardly towards the lower face (4), rounded corners (8) being formed between the side edges (5) and the upper face (6), the rounded corners (8) being of substantially constant radius, and means (10) supporting the hinge means, the support means being disposed co-axially of the said rounded corners.
