Abstract
The present invention provides a laminate (10) for packaging a product therein, the laminate comprising:
(a) a first film (11), a second film (12) and an adhesive bonding (13) the first film to the second film;
(b) an adhesive-free interfacial section (14) between the first and second films comprising an unbound portion (15) of the first film and an unbound portion (16) of the second film; wherein the unbound portion of the first film includes at least one perforation, cut or score-line (17), extending through the entire thickness of the first film (11), and the unbound portion (16) of the second film (12) is free of a perforation, cut and score-line; and
(c) wherein the unbound portions (15,16) of the first and second films (11,12) are adapted to separate from each other such that unbound portion of the first film has a substantially horizontal surface and the unbound portion of the second film has a thermoformable film-surface which conforms to the shape of the product in response to application of heat and differential air pressure thereto.
