Przedmiotem niniejszego wynalazku jest zaslona, filtrujaca promienie ultrafio¬ letowe.Znane sa pewne materjaty, jak iip. szklo eufotydowe, szklo zabarwione na zielono, szklo halauerowe, szklo z ciezkiego krze¬ mienia, jako tez szklo sinuwalowe, nie przepuszczajace promieni ultrafioletowych.Bardzo waznym czynnikiem przy wyrobie tego rodzaju szkla sa rzadkie gatunki ziem, szczególnie cer. Szklo takie uzywa sie do¬ tychczas na okulary i na czesci optycznego telegrafu, jednak szyby okienne z tego ma- terjalu sa zanadto drogie i z latwoscia pe¬ kaja.
