Abstract

The support has a spring strip with ends held in a retaining unit and a contact surface formed within a support element (3). Side parts (5, 6) of the support element are provided with a bridging element (15). End regions (16) of the bridging element are turned away from the side parts of the support element and aligned against each other. The end regions are connected with each other by a hinged connection (17), so that a damping element (21) is attached to both the side parts of the support element to dampen longitudinal carriers when loading the mattress support in a resilient manner.
