Znane łączniki elektryczne z napędem ręcznym, umieszczane w przewodach zasilających lampy oświetleniowe, posiadają dzielony korpus wykonany z dielektryku, wewnątrz którego są dwa styki. Jeden ze styków pod wpływem sił sprężystości, materiału, z którego jest wykonany, rozłącza obwód lampy oświetleniowej. Ponowne załączenie obwodu jest dokonywane przez zetknięcie styków spowodowane naciskiem ruchomego łącznika napędzanego ręcznie. Niedogodnością znanych styków jest to, iż powodują przerwę tylko w jednej żyle przewodu a to powoduje niebezpieczeństwo porażenia prądem obsługującego łącznik. Łącznik posiada dzielony korpus 1 z tworzywa sztucznego, wewnątrz którego są umieszczone cztery styki 2, 3, 4 i 5 parami do siebie symetryczne. Jedną z par styków 2 i 3 stanowią paski blachy zamocowane w korpusie 1, których jedne końce, równoległe do siebie, są usytuowane nad końcami drugiej pary styków 4 i 5. Styki 4 i 5 mają wyprofilowane załamanie w kształcie litery V w pobliżu ruchomego suwaka 6 napędzanego ręcznie umieszczonego miedzy nimi. Na końcach styków są wyprofilowane otwory 7 do przyłączania końców przewodu.
