The reception desk's distinctive appearance is its primary distinguishing feature within its surroundings, particularly in lobbies. This new effect was achieved by incorporating some elements from current solutions for arcuate or circular reception desks into a new, straight-panel design. According to the design, the reception desk always has three rectangular outer walls facing the customer, each of which is intended for longitudinal decorative strips, fluorescent lamps, decorative panels, or advertising or company lettering. The new form of the counter, with its constant and repetitive rectangular wall shape, manifests itself in an equally constant top view, in which the three walls forming a segment of the rectangle are always of unequal length. This is represented by the top view of the counter, where the left side, adjacent to the counter face, is typically shorter, usually by half, than the parallel and opposite side. A common design and functional distinguishing feature is the counter's wider desktop shelf. It is mounted directly to the counter walls or—in variants—on spacer posts or a longitudinal strip. The shelf is made of a board made of the same material as the walls or of glass. Counter variants with slots or overlaying boards can have lighting in the slots or on the edges of the boards. The number of illuminated sections is optional. In the panel-based, overlay wall designs, fluorescent lamps are mounted on the edges of the overlay. Illuminated designs enhance the visual appearance of the counter while also indicating its location within the room, especially in hallways. The use of a pattern-based solution expands the counter's design range, but above all, it introduces a new visual appearance, replacing circular lines, arcs, or semi-arcs. The pattern-based counter design features typical table interiors. A new feature, however, is the new rectangular shape and dual-function wall construction with broken decorative strips, wall lighting, or with advertising overlays, without decoration. The functionality of the solution is ensured by the lighting of the counter, the color scheme, the variety of side surfaces, and a convenient upper shelf, especially glass.
