Abstract

The invention relates to display holders, particularly for greeting cards, to be displayed on a wall and provides a system of interlocking cardboard holders which, in combination, enable a wide variety of different display arrays to be achieved. The holders are shaped pieces of card, each having a pair of male interlock parts and a pair of female interlock parts by which the holders can be interlocked in a desired array and each having at least one shaped slot into which the items to be displayed can be inserted. Preferably, all the holders are identical and of rectangular form, each having an interlock lug at each upper corner and an interlock vertical slot at each lower corner. Top and bottom "joining pieces" for interlocking with the holders are also provided. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Wall-Hung Display Holders for Greeting Cards Brief Description: A system of interlocking cardboard holders which, when assembled and wallhung, will serve to display greeting cards and the like. The holders and accessory pieces (detailed below) will, in combination, enable a wide variety of different display arrangements to be achieved. (See fig. 4) The interlocking holders and accessories are easily dismantled for storage and re-arranged to form different display arrangements.

Components: The components consist of holders and accessories.

Holders: The holders are strong, shaped pieces of card as shown in fig. 1. Each holder has two lugs at the top and two small vertical slots at the bottom. The lugs of one holder interlock with the slots of another to provide a variable framework of holders which will hang flat against a wall and which require support from the top holder only of the display. Each holder also contains inverted "V" shaped slots into which are inserted the items to be displayed.

Accessories: Of similar construction to the holders, the accessories are small pieces which interlock with the holders and enable the number of display arrangements to be greatly increased. The accessories consist of bottom joining pieces and top joining pieces (see fig. 2).

Display Arrangements: Many different display arrangements are possible using the holders and accessories listed above. Fig. 3 illustrates the basic diamond display shape which is achieved by using the holders only. This shape (with a single holder in the top row and a single holder in the botton row) is the only one to which the holders are suited when used alone. Fig. 4 demonstrated the importance of the accessories, which allow a wide variety of display arrangements to be adopted when used in conjunction with the holders.

Dimensions: The dimensions of the manufactured holders and accessories are variable depending upon the nature of the items they are likely to display. (For example: large greeting cards, small greeting cards, post cards) Appearance: The holders and accessories may be constructed of any suitable strong card, may be white or coloured, may be plain or patterned, and may or may not contain printed designs.

Items to be displayed: The holders and accessories are designed to display greeting cards (Christmas cards, Birthday cards and the like), postcards, commemorative envelopes, photographs and any other items considered suitable by their user.

Claims

1. A display holder arrangement for displaying items on a wall consisting of a system of interlocking cardboard holders, each holder comprising a shaped piece of card having a pair of male interlock parts and a pair of female interlock parts by which the holders can be interlocked in a desired array, and each holder having at least one slot therein shaped in such a manner that an item to be displayed can be readily supported and displayed therein.

A display holder arrangement according to claim 1, wherein all the holders of the system are identical and are of rectangular form, each holder being intended to be hung on a wall with its length extending vertically, each intended upper corner of the holder being shaped to form an interlock lug and each lower corner having an interlock vertical slot therein.

3. A display holder arrangement according to claim 2, wherein each shaped slot in each holder is of inverted "V" shape, i.e. the apex of the "V" is towards the intended upper edge of its respective holder.

4. A display holder arrangement according to any one of claim 1 to claim 3, wherein the system includes joining pieces with a pair of appropriate interlock parts whereby a pair of holders can be interlocked and supported in spaced relationship.

A display holder arrangement according to claim 4 when dependent on claim 2, wherein two kinds of joining pieces are provided, viz. a top joining piece which is of a width corresponding to the width of each holder and is provided with a vertical interlock slot at each of its ends and a bottom joining piece which is of a width corresponding to the width of each holder and is formed with an interlock lug at each of its ends.

6. A display holder arrangement for displaying items on a wall constructed and adapted for use substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawings.

A display holder arrangement for displaying items on a wall consisting of a system of interlocking cardboard holders, each holder comprising a shaped piece of card having a pair of male interlock parts and a pair of female interlock parts by which the holders can be interlocked in a desired array, and each holder having at least one slot therein shaped in such a manner that an item to be displayed can be readily supported and displayed therein.

A display holder arrangement according to claim 1, wherein all the holders of the system are identical and are of rectangular form, each holder being intended to be hung on a wall with its length extending vertically, each intended upper corner of the holder being shaped to form an interlock lug and each lower corner having an interlock vertical slot therein.
