The varnish according to the invention consists of a nitrocellulose husk colored with a pigment in an amount and 21 to 25 parts by weight, acetyl butyl cellulose in an amount of 7 to 9 parts by weight, butyl acetate in an amount of 39 to 43 parts by weight, and acetone in an amount of 27 to 29 parts by weight. This varnish is characterized by an appropriate quantitative selection of known components. Acetyl butyral cellulose and nitrocellulose husk colored with a pigment give durability and legibility to inscriptions made with lt and with this varnish on textiles. The application of acetone to varnish causes the immediate drying of the inscriptions.
