Abstract

Textile materials containing differentially dyed nylon fibres are produced by forming a textile material from fibres of which some (preferably all) are nylon and of which some of the nylon fibres have a different content of anion-forming groups, e.g. carboxy groups, from the other nylon fibres, and dyeing said textile material with a cationic dye at a pH of at least 6. The textile material may also be dyed with a disperse or acid dye and especially may be dyed from a single dyebath containing a cationic and an acid dye. Numerous suitable dyes are specified and Examples are given.
