Abstract

The current utility model refers to the design of a mathematical kit for teaching fractions and mathematical operations utilizing various polygonal tiles. The polygonal tiles will serve as manipulatives which will help teachers explain abstract concepts with concrete examples of mathematical operations. The mathematical kit for teaching fractions is composed of a plurality of hexagonal tiles, a plurality of trapezoidal tiles adapted to be formed on top of said hexagonal tile, a plurality of rhomboidal tiles adapted to be formed on top of said hexagonal tile, and a plurality of triangular tiles adapted to be formed on top of said hexagonal tile. The surfaces of the said polygonal tiles can be used by writing different fractions and other numerals by an erasable marker.
