Abstract

The single universal non-convertible molar band with three predetermined angles was made to give way to a more innovative method of using the traditional molar band. This modifiable molar band has a tractable integral hook that could be repositioned from left to right or in vice-versa in unlike the traditional molar band which has a fixed integral hook and may have a traditional molar band integral hooks design that have a thin keen edge which may cause cancer sores in the oral cavity. To make it more convenient to Dentists, since the integral hook can be moved from left to right and on vice-versa this would set as a universal type of molar band because it can be used for all molars. In addition to that, the new design of the buccal tube has a fleeted end which would compensate any path of insertion of the wire into the tube and the tube is mechanically enhanced. The tube can be tilted upwards and downwards for the convenience of the dentist in inserting malaligned molars.

Summary of invention
Thé single universal non-convertible with a buccal tube that can tilt into three angles which is made of stainless steel that is proven to be biocompatible to the oral cavity. With this innovative invention, dentists would find this product easy to use, less technique sensitive and convenient because of its integral hook that is adjustable from left to right or in vise-versa which makes this as universal for it can be placed in the maxillary or in the mandibular molars. In addition to that, the buccal tube is mechanically enhanced in which the tube can be positioned at 3 different angles depending on which is convenient to the dentist. Thus, the buccal tube was redesigned as funnel shape wherein it would compensate any path of insertion of the arch wire. At the lingual side of the molar band is a lingualcleat and on the inside surface of the band, the surface texture is roughened because a mesh is being placed for added retention of the molar band. § < +

Background of invention
A molar band is an appliance adjustment used in orthodontics. In the past 30 years, it has been used commonly on every tooth when installing braces, but recently brackets are being used without the help of bands as they have figured more effective way to attach them on teeth except for molars as it is the most active teeth people have. Molars are used for chewing, which makes it more active. With molar bands, the stress molar tooth gets from chewing are lessen and increases the stability of brackets so there will be less possibility that it will break off.
With this molar band, archwires are secured to the molars. Sometimes, it can also be used with premolars. Like some other orthodontics apparatuses, molar bands are made of stainless steel. It has a different size which caters to different teeth that can be adjusted using dental instruments.
Molar band is used with cement to set it and let it be fixed with teeth. It has integral hooks that allows the use of elastics. With the archwire being slid on the sleeve of the band, it helps the molars to be stabilized.
The invention has concern with molar bands. To be precise, the innovated molar band correlates with the current molar bands used with orthodontics today. The modified molar band has improved features that will be helpful to dentists in the years to come. Its key features includes ‘tractable integral hook, adjustable band ‘and buccal tube for easy insertion of archwire and installation convenience for the dentists. With its new ‘integral hook and its adjustable band, you can use only one molar band on every after different molars except on third molars.
The invention comprises of advantages over the current molar band specifically its integral hook which the dentist can shift from left to right or vice versa. With its knob on the band, it will allow the dentists to adjust the molar bands in contrary to the current molai bands Wherein sizes will have to be picked to fit on the patient’s molar tooth. This band with its knob feature will allow the band that envelopes the surrounding of the tooth to have a custom fit sizing instead of using a size which doesn’t perfectly fit on the molar tooth. With a movable feature of buccal tube, it will provide easy access to insert archwire, hence won’t need to be bended just to be able to msert it on the hole that is fixedly attached on the tooth. Lastly, it has a mesh feature | which is not commonly available with the current molar band. This mesh of the Tolar band would enhance its long term retention due to indentations and surface texture. Due to this innovation, it could help dentist have easier management on orthodontics and other procedures that would require the use of molar band.
It can be foreseen that this new invention provides convenient usage of molar bands through its tractable integral hooks, knob, movable brackets and mesh.
Detailed description
The single universal non-convertible molar band is made out of stainless steel. The molar band itself is .006 inches which envelopes the molar the molar and has a roughened surface texture for enhanced long term retention of the band. The buccal tube itself has a mechanically enhanced design which has the capability of three different angles, due to the tilting features, there is a high profile design which would entail the maximum level of tilt of the buccal tube. The new design of the buccal tube has a different shape compared to the traditional cylinder type of the traditional buccal tube which could compensate any path insertion of the arch wire. The buccal tube has a fluted shaped end. Located at the middle inferior of the profile of the buccal tube is the integral hook which has the capability of moving left to right or in vice-versa and has a rounded tip to prevent any soft tissue damage.
